Tell us a little about how you met..
We have known each other since we were little and in primary school! We didn’t talk much but ended up talking online after bumping into each other at the pub in 2009 when we started seeing each other and hit it off quite quickly. We are both hard working but quite chilled back and do things together and separately.
We are also very creative Sam can build things from recycled materials and I have a good eye for matching colours and textures and use that daily in my job!
We are family people and spend most weekends going to see them so it was only right that Sam proposed at his mums annual bbq party in front of all of his family & family friends in 2014
Why was The Alverton your perfect venue..
We chose the Alverton after seeing it online in our search for the perfect venue for us and fell in love even more when we went to look around and met the staff. We love the building and the great hall was everything we wanted and more! The big choice in menu and catering for allergies was a massive bonus as well as offering ground floor rooms for our older guests to stay in
How would you describe your wedding..
We wanted the style of our wedding to be personal to us. We had the touch of woodland animals for our table plan as we both love them and that is reflected in our home. We also love bold colours and really loved the Navy, burgundy and blush colour palette and it was perfect in the venue. Sam made the card box and table plan and I put together all the stationery, confetti bags etc and sourced other handmade items such as the drop heart frame and clay tags for the dress hangers
What was the most difficult detail of your wedding to agree upon?
Choosing the menu!
How long did it take you to plan your wedding and did you enjoy the process?
We booked our wedding 18 months in advance and planned it quite quickly once we had decided on the date, venue and colours. Most of the planning was left to me as I am the most organised! I did enjoy planning our wedding and do miss it a little!
If you could change any part of your day, which part and why?
Nothing
What made you fall in love with your wedding dress?
My dress was so different I loved it! I loved all the little details and the blush colour! I was a bit worried about it being so different but had lots of lovely comments
What were you looking forward to most about your wedding day?
All of our family being together to make some amazing memories
And marrying my best friend of course!
Did you have a wedding theme? If so, what inspired it.
Our theme was a bit of everything we love
Books, woodland animals and bold colours According to Pinterest this seems to fall under moody romantic
What was the best part of the day for you?
Watching everyone enjoy themselves and being with our family. We made sure we had time together so had a sweetheart table for our wedding breakfast and it was nice to sit back and watch everyone for a little bit! Olivia & Tobias sneaking us off for photos after the ceremony was also a great touch and those are some of our favourite pictures
What would be the best bit of advice you would give to potential Brides and Grooms?
Don’t worry about not being traditional or doing things a bit different! Your wedding day is about you so have what you like and what you want and don’t worry about anyone else!
